On October 16, 2000, Christopher Dale Sifford boarded a twin-engine Cessna airplane with Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan with the governor’s son, Roger, as pilot. Chris was serving as senior aide to the governor. They planned on a quick trip to New Madrid, Missouri, for a campaign rally. The time was 7:15 PM.

Eighteen minutes later, at 7:33, radar contact was lost with the Cessna 335, number N8354N. The plane with all on board were listed as missing.

18 Minutes and a Lifetime: A Biography of Christopher Dale Sifford begins with those eighteen minutes of Chris Sifford’s life. The book tells the life story of this remarkable young man who came from the small town of Puxico, which is nestled in the southern foothills of Missouri. How did a lifetime resident of Puxico end up in the Missouri white house serving as communications direction and chief of staff? How did Chris end up as senior aide to Mel Carnahan?

This book answers those questions and many more about the life of Christopher Dale Sifford.
